Pastor:
I think that the most important messages of Jesus are: (KJV version)

(1) He has "come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10).
Comment: This means we forgive and love others because God first loved us. We shouldn't be "holier than thou": We've all sinned; we're just human beings.

(2) Also: "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33).
Comment: This verse tells us to set our minds on the Lord and He will help us deal with the rest of our affairs on earth.

(3) Finally: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Matthew 28:19).
Comment: Jesus said these words after He rose from the dead. Since we are his servants, we must share his Good News with other people first by our witness (how we live our lives) and then by the words which He has given us in His Word (we share what we believe with all our heart and mind).

Conclusion: We are no better than non-Christians are. We just have the assurance of our faith and should humbly live out a Christian life without judging others. Life is too short to make enemies by alienating people from the Gospel.
When people are ready, they can always turn to the Lord for help. We will be there with our prayers to support them and their families.
